Beautiful Awake, a photo from Setubal, South

Photographer's Note

Today I’ve decided to jump out of the bed early just to see the sunrise in Seixal Bay...at about 6.15 a.m.
It was quite a sacrifice for me because I like too sleep, especially on weekends ;-)
But I think I had the compensation for this sacrifice because the light and the sky was amazing and the river was so quiet.
the silhouette of the crane you see on the right side of the image belongs to a shipyard.
And the buildings of the backgrounds are from the City of Barreiro.

Nice sunrise view with lovely reflections in the water and the great subject of the lonely boat standing out well against the silhouette of the city.

Acabo de valorar una foto de una puesta de sol a otro miembro de TE, y no puedo resistirme a la belleza de este tipo de imágenes. Inspiran tanta paz y calma que las hace imprescindibles.
Ésta tuya es preciosa, con la luz y los bellos y cálidos colores, la barca en medio del encuadre quitando protagonismo al sol y a las nubes, y unos fantásticos reflejos en el mar.
Maravillosa imagen.

Definitely worth getting up early for this one. The golden tones of the sun, sky and reflections on the water are sensational and the silhouetted boat is perfectly placed in the frame. The composition is a classic example of the rule of thirds.

Poeque é que o nascer ou o pôr-do-sol nos fascina tanto? Tenho muitas vezes o meu despertador de pulso, especialmente quando estou a trabalhar nas plataformas marítimas, marcado para esses momentos e também tiro muitas fotografias nessas alturas.
Bonitas cores numa boa perspectiva.

hi Teresa, great sunrise!!
i live in Barreiro and because i cross the river (Tagus) everyday i usually catch the sunrise somewhere along the way, but there's something quite special about this photo...
the colors are just wonderful and the silhouettes in the backgound give it an "industrial feel" that creates a nice contrast with the sunrise and the boat.
eventhough the boat could be a little more to the right of the picture (it's a bit too centered in my opinion) it is a very good shot.. well worth the sacrifice ;)

Olá!
Curioso que tambem andei pela baia ontem a tirar fotos... Bela foto com o sol a refectir na agua e ainda que ao de leve na proa do barco. Gosto da inclusão do guindaste ao fundo na foto dando a mesma uma atmosfera "industrial" contrastante com a calma transmitida na frente da foto.
Mais uma bela imagem com um barco presente.

Good contrast and beautiful sunset colors in the harbor. I like the skyline and opposition between the crane from the industrial world and the small boat.

Olá Teresa,
Bela foto, com umas cores saturadas e uma "quase silhueta" bem conseguida no bote. Nunca tinha visto a utilização de um mesmo cabo para amarrar o barco dos dois extremos, formando esta linha da proa à popa, sobre o casco.
A atmosfera que transpira da foto é calma e nostálgica sem ser triste. O Guindaste lembra-me os anos 50, que estão (para mim pelo menos) bem presentes nesta imagem. Obrigado por a partilhares!

Exlent colors I like the sun and if you move your scream in you computer, the colors looks amazing. The reflex in the water are lovely amd the boat makes the rest of the composition.
