Photographer's Note

Costa de Caparica, besides to being the beach that serves Lisbon and Almada during summer time, is also a routine destination for a Sunday drive on sunny winter days.

This photo was taken in December on a rather cold and windy afternoon. These three young men are coming out water and preparing to face the coldest part of the day when they have to strip their wetsuits to put in warmer clothes. We often see them shaking and with purple lips.

But they’ll be back the next day. Some of them rush out of their jobs, at 5 or 6 pm, towards the closest beach just to catch a few runs before it gets too dark.

A very classic capture of the surfing scene.
Your note describes the addiction so well.
Your overall shot is wonderful. Great POV.
Great colours with a magic sunset. Love the reflections of the three walking.
Still three out the back looking for that last wave :)

Voilà une très belle photo, la couleur de l'eau est dans une magnifique game de gris métallisé se mariant parfaitement à la couleur dorée.
J'aime bien les silhouettes et leurs reflets.
Je propose un cadrage horizontal dans WS.
