Photographer's Note

Here's another photo of Forte da Graça, that has been recently declared World Heritage by the UNESCO.
This Fortress is situated on Graça Mount, around 1 km far from Elvas. Considered a very powerful and original fortress, it was built in the 18th century, following the plans of Marshall Count Lippe, according to the orders of the Marquis of Pombal, as part of a plan to reorganize the Portuguese Army. 6000 men and 4000 animals have worked on the construction for thirty years.
Later, it became a prison.
