Photographer's Note

I like Lisbon from the first sight. It has plenty of wonderful streets and squares to stroll and relax. What I like very much here, and what is also true in the whole Portugal, is that every square has a unique pattern of pavement. Using mainly black and white but also other stones' colors. It does not cost much more but the final effect is fantastic.

This photograph presents one of the two fountains on the Rossio Square (Praca dom Pedro IV) in Lisbon. Far in the upper left corner you may find the skeletal arches of Igreja do Carmo, Carmelite church once largest in Lisbon, which was left not reconstructed as a reminder of the earthquake of 1755.
