Hi, my TE friends!

In this beginning of a new year, I bring to you something with the colors of hope: the greens of Monte da Lua.

Situated close to Lisbon, Sintra has one of the most beautiful and luxurious natural park, due to its microclimate.

In here, Nature’s exuberance it’s well pronounced, giving place to numerous exotic natural gardens, covering Sintra mountain, also known as Monte da Lua (which rises to an altitude of 529m), name gave by the primitive Iberian people, for whom this lovely mountain it was a place of cult worship with the moon.
The Romans gave to this place the name of "Cynthia" (goddess of the moon), from which comes the word “Sintra”.

In this natural park, we can find fairytale palaces and extravagant villas like Monserrate Palace and its gardens (Monserrate Park), in which I toke this shot.

It’s another good example of the lush and exuberant vegetation of my exotic and lovely town’s natural gardens.

Enjoy it, and take all the hope you can get from this view to 2007!

The lushness is quite stunning...
But of course also marked by autumn since this is November!
Seems like a lovely place full of peace and quiet, a place to cool down...

Olá Rosa,
some garden beauty which is not often at the moment. I like the amount of colors, because I can forget the grey we have at the moment outside. A special thanks! Without bold characters it is much better for me to read your note.

Olá Rosa, espero que tenhas entrado com o pé certo neste Novo Ano e desejo-te um fantástico 2007! Fico agradado de ver mais uma imagem desta tua zona carregada de romantismo. Está muito bonita e a tua nota está excelente. Gosto muito de ver este caminho quase invisível no meio desta vegetação, a serpentear na diagonal da composição e a passar ao lado daquela espécie de "mini-palmeira" (não sei o nome).

It is a pleasure to visit your gallery and see views from Monte da Lua’s Gardens in Monserrate Park. They comprise a veritable "Suburb of Paradise," and it is not difficult to understand why you are so fond of them. As usual, the composition and exposure are exquisite, as are the colors and virtual texture. The complementary colors of red and green work well together.

The lush beauty of this spot is well discerned here. There is good clarity of detail and I like the way the strewn autumn leaves enhance. I might have cropped somewhat on the left to bring the main scene in somewhat. Well captured and have a very happy New Year.

Interessante imagem, quando vi a miniatura pensei que a foto estava com excesso de saturação, mas quando abri vi que eram as cores que estavam bem vivas e fortes! Muito bonito!

Hello Rosa.
It is amazing to see such lush vegetation. In some way it reminds me that it is supposed to be winter here, yet it is warm enough to wear shorts. Crazyness. The picture is a little busy, maybe get closer to the main tree/fern (thing) and use the same F stop. Focus on that plant and blur the background a little more, it will enhance the shot and help breakup the foreground and background.

Rosa, foto interessante desse parque. gosto da árvore pequena e dos tons de verde. Acredito que uma foto na horizontal e mais próximo desse mais grandeza a ela que ficou "comprimida" pelo verde circundante, veja o WS.

Como há muito tempo que não vejo nada teu, fui à tua página e reparei que esta foto foi a primeira e a única do ano. Espero que não seja por motivos de saúde que não tens publicado fotos.
Voltando à tua imagem, acho que stá mesmo muito boa em cores e em composição. O carreiro a deambular da direita à esquerda e a pssaar perto do feto, que por si é o objecto central da imagem, está muito bem posicionado. Esse tipo de feto é muito comum na Austrália.

Olá Rosa de Monte da Lua,
É daqui que vem o teu nome em TrekEarth?
Gosto muito desta paisagem tropical com os fetos gigantes e as outras plantas.
Monserrate é o único sítio de Sintra que eu já vi com calma e vagar. Um destes dias publico aqui alguma(s) foto(s) de lá.
