Photographer's Note

Continuing my visit to this palace, today I bring you the so called "Sala dos Embaixadores" -"Ambassadors Room" (1757-1762); primitively here took place concerts and parties at the time of D. Pedro III, usually on the days of S. João and S. Pedro. On the XIX century it was used to the audiences to the Diplomatic Corps and foreign Ministers who came to present credentials to the Prince Regent D. João, future King D. João VI. The existence of two thrones on the tops of the room (we can see two of them on the photo) is justified by Prince's regency, who presided those events with his wife, the Princess D. Carlota Joaquina.

I also took this photo without a tripod and without flash (not allowed).

Hope you enjoy it!
