Photographer's Note

I discovered this place by mistake, after I made a visit to the Ajuda Palace. It was a discovery for me, because I had no preview referece of it.

I was walking by the area and saw the sign. I was please with this visit. The bad think was I couldn´t take more pictures because I run out of memory space.
Anyway you can see in the picture the main feature of this garden.

About the JBA

The Botanical Garden of Ajuda was established in 1768, having been projected by a Italian botanical, Domingos Vandelli , come from Pádua called by king D. Jose to teach its principles. Although Lisbon have been place of many gardens that had lodged the private collection of plants coming from Africa, Asia and America, the JBA is the first Botanical Garden of Portugal designed to keep, study and collect the maximum number of species of the vegetal world. It used to had 5000 species according to a sexual system considered by Lineu, master of Vandelli.
