Photographer's Note

Going over my archival photos from Lisbon, I had this jealous thought: how great it would be to live permanently in a photogenic place like Lisbon? I cannot really complain because I had a chance to live for a couple of years in places like Krakow, Munich, or Los Angeles. It was sadly in the pre-digital times, but they were places which offered endless photo opportunities. Unfortunately, many good jobs for scientists are in remote locations and most importantly now when I found one which is really good, I don’t want to spoil it by making another change.

You can see here the statue of King John I (Estátua de Dom João I) with the silhouette of the Castelo de S. Jorge on top of the hill in the distance. It was captured from the Praça da Figueira.
I have seen a very similar picture in Ike’s gallery but since I took it at very different light conditions, I decided to share it anyway.
