Photographer's Note

Tomorrow morning I'll be heading to Porto to discover the other great city of Portugal. See you in 9 days with a lot of images I hope.

The 50-metre-diameter (160 ft) Rosa-dos-Ventos (compass rose) was executed using different types of marble. Designed by the architect Cristino da Silva, it includes a Mappa mundi that is 14 metres wide, showing the routes of Portuguese carracks and caravels during the Age of Discovery.
