Final day at the Carcavelos beach, Happy Holidays for the year 2012:)

Carcavelos Beach

The Carcavelos Beach is a wide beach, going from the Carcavelos entrance up to the São Julião da Barra fortress, integrating two small dimensions sandy areas: the Moinho Beach (next to the fortress) and another one, in front of the famous “Bar dos Gémeos”.
Despite the fact that this is the most extensive sandy area of all Estoril Coast, it is quite common to get crowded in summer time, even during weekdays.
This beach has several facilities and is mainly frequented by locals, families, youngsters and surf and body board practitioners. The Beach is also stage for several sport events, such as Beach rugby and Beach volley. On the Parking lot there are also skate and basketball courts available.
Facilities
Sun shelters and beds for rent; Toilets; Showers; Tourist Office; Restaurants; Bars/Cafeterias; Sport Fishing, Accessibility for the Disabled.

Playa de Carcavelos

La playa de Carcavelos se extiende desde la entrada de Carcavelos hasta el Fuerte de S. Julião da Barra, integrando dos arenales de pequeñas dimensiones: la playa del «Moinho», al lado del «Forte», y otra, enfrente al Bar de los «Gémeos».A pesar de ser el más extenso arenal de toda la Costa de Estoril, es común que la playa se llene los días de verano, incluso durante la semana.
Para servir todos esos veraneantes, además de los bares y restaurantes que permanecen abiertos toda la noche, hay también una escuela de deportes naúticos, como el surf, windsurf y bodyboard. La playa tiene aún recintos de fútbol de playa y beach voley. Los campeonatos de fútbol playa se han realizado allí, bien como otros acontecimientos deportivos, como beach rugby y beach voley.
En el aparcamiento hay todavía un conjunto de rampas de skate y campos de baloncesto.

Superbe photo qui nous réchauffe en plein hiver; le contre jour est magnifique avec ce soleil et tous ses rayons (excellente ouverture). Le reflet sur les vagues et les rochers noirs donnent une belle composition.

Olá, amigo Gonçalo,
el filtro tabaco y el sol directamente sobre tu objetivo crean una imagen con un toque irreal, parece que estamos viendo un paisaje de Marte, por esa fuerte luz y por los colores dorados y cálidos, aunque cuando nuestros ojos recorren el paisaje, vemos la playa, el mar y la gente, y nos damos cuenta de que seguimos estando en la Tierra.
Bromas aparte, la foto tiene una gran fuerza lumínica y cromática, y está muy bien hecha, a pesar de la gran dificultad de este contraluz tan directo.
Os deseamos un feliz Año Nuevo a toda la familia, lleno de salud y bienestar.

The distance between the beach and the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the beach. Using a gradual tobacco filter has a special effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

personally, i hate taking photos while pointing directly into the sun! but this one works out very well.
the rocky shoreline also provides an attractive visual with its contrast along the beach.
love the yellow orange hues.

This is an amazing beautiful photograph!
You're capturing well this sunset scene by a good composition and very beautiful tone/claririty, so it's impressive to ses the sky, sea and beach dyed to orange color of sunset. It's very effective in shadow/highlight of whole image, too. And, sunrays which spread in the shape of radiation draws out good atmosphere in this image.
