Photographer's Note

A carillon is a musical instrument of percussion, it is formed by a keyboard and a set of bells of varied sizes, controlled for the keyboard. The carillons normally are lodged in towers of churches or convents and are of the biggest instruments of the world

This bell belongs to "Carillon of the Pastorinhos" in Alverca. This carillion is probably the most recent of the world, it was inaugurated in day 1 of May of 2005, having been started to construct in 2002. He is composed for 69 bells, being therefore, as bigger of the Europe but one foresees that it comes to have 72(All bells was constructed in Holland). The construction in the complex is still foreseen, of the second School of Carillon of the Iberian Peninsula. from Wikipédia.
