Photographer's Note

Hi TE friends

This is a very beautifulplace in the Alentejo region of Portugal

I Hope you like it and I wish you a nice weekend

The castle of Évora Monte only has news of its existence, through the Christian reconquest, circa 1160, the reign of King Afonso Henriques, the forces commanded by the legendary, Geraldo Fearless.

During the reign of Afonso III, had restoration work, which also would happen in the reign of King Dinis. Was the field of constable, D. Nuno Alvares Pereira, and here was signed the Convention of Évora Monte in 1834, which ended the Liberal Wars.

The earthquake in 1531, leads to the need of reconstruction, the walls were strengthened and its structure has followed the line of entrenched Renaissance palaces, whose project is awarded to architects, Diogo e Francisco Arruda.

In good condition, the castle is classified as a National Monument and benefited from articles of consolidation and restoration, with many campaigns from 1930 until 1987.
