Photographer's Note

2 kayakers on the Gilao River at high tide. There are a lot of exposed rocks and sand at low tide so they picked a good time to paddle. The bg bridge with 7 arches was built by the Moors in the 12th century. It is not considered to be Roman after a recent archaeological survey.

Tavira got its name from the Moorish Arabic Tabira, "the hidden".
