Photographer's Note

This is a modern DMU (diesel multitiple unit) of CP built by the Portuguese Sorefame company. It’s accelerating out of Faro station for it’s run to Villa Real de San Antonio. It’s approaching a pedestrian crossing. The yellow warning says “look & listen”. The “listen” is somewhat redundant. The two diesel engines of this DMU produce a very loud and deliciously throaty roar and cannot be overheard. But there’s another possibilities - maybe this sign is just meant for rail aficionados and is just saying ‘hey! there might be a nice inox train coming, listen to the fabulous industrial music it makes!’ ;-)
The pic is taken in suboptimal light condition. But I liked the combination of the DMU and the sign so much that I waited till the train had the right position. I anticipated too much shutter lag – I ‘planned’ the sign after, not in front of the driving cab. But the effect is still nice IMHO.
PS-E2 tech: cropped, levels, saturated (master, yellows and reds), fill flashed selected shadow parts, sharpened (the whole pic and parts with the sharpen brush), blurred the weeds in the front stage, add layer and saved for the web.
