Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer a view of the fortified city of Valença, beautiful Portuguese town north of the country, near the border with Spain in the region of Galicia, hope you like it, then some letters on the city.

Valença, commonly known as Valença do Minho, is a Portuguese city located in the district of Viana do Castelo, North and sub-Minho-Lima, with approximately 8,000 people in its core and 14,127 inhabitants (2011) within its municipal .

It is the seat of the homonymous municipality with 117.43 km ² of area and subdivided into 16 parishes (parishes). Bordered on the east by the municipality of Moncao, south to Paredes de Coura, west to Vila Nova de CERVEIRA and northwest and north with Spain (town of Tuy).

He received a charter of Sancho II of Portugal, being then baptized as contrasts. It received its current name in 1262. Minho's nickname comes from the Rio Minho.

As of February 10, 2012 near the city of Tuy (Spain) form a sample Eurocity as cooperation and integration between the two cities separated only by two bridges spanning the River Minho.
