Photographer's Note

Main square of the old part of Caminha, a small town in the extreme Northwest of Portugal, viewed from from Torre do relógio (Clock Tower). I suppose that the square is known as Terreiro (lit: "public square").

The image is a stitch of two horizontal images shot hand held (with no tripod).

Caminha is a charming place on the ever green Minho region, on the left (South) bank of the mouth of Minho River, which constitutes the frontier between Galicia (Spain) and Portugal. This was supposed to be the first day of my and my son's Way of St. James (well, part of it... :-), the old pilgrinage trail more than a thousand years old that ends in Santiago de Compostela, but the day before I went to meet an old friend nearby and I ended up going to bed very late and so when I woke up was almost time to lunch, so we decided to make a little bit of sight seeing by car on an area that I didn't know so well and my son didn't know at all, before goind to Valença, the real departure point of our journey.
