Photographer's Note

I have a colleague from Portugal, born in Alentejo. When i told him that i would like to explore northern Portugal, he told me immediately that "the people there are crazy...". Even though he doesn't like the people too much, he told that i had to see Porto, because it is "The Paris of Portugal", that's why i choose the title.

Porto (also known as Oporto) is the second biggest City in Portugal, part of the regiao Norte and considers itself the secret capital of the country. The archtitecture of the city is breathtaking, starting from the bridges, like Ponte Dom Louis I on the right. The Douro river flows through the city and enters the atlantice ocean at Foz do Douro. And of course, here is the home of Port Wine!

The City has a "morbid" beauty, meaning that the buildings are beautiful, but in parts already in very bad shape. More to come from this place for sure...
