Photographer's Note

The highest point in Portugal (Continental), Serra da Estrela is the dominant point that splits the north and south of Portugal, revealing it's majesty against the lowlands surrounding. Serra da Estrela is a protected "Natural Park", and a great place for trekking, although in winter some caution must be taken. The Serra da Estrela is also famous for its wonderful cheese called "Queijo da Serra", as well as its smoked sausages.

This was taken in "Nave de Santo António", in a cold winter sunrise (my unprotected hands almost glued to the tripod). As the sun was rising, his yellow glow over the chapel, and the textures in the grass were too appealing for me not to photograph agains a clear winter sky.

Hope you enjoy, and of course, you are more than welcome to comment and make any question you wish.
