The word Xávega comes from the Arabic word xábaka, which means net, is a process of artisanal fishing made with purse seine and its equipment consists of cables and a mesh bag in conical form -The net bag is placed in the sea, far from the shore by a vessel, which unrolls the cables whose ends are on land. After the siege of the fish, the net is pulled out and ends with the landing and opening of the net bag containing the fishery
