Today, World Photography Day, I present you a schist village: Piódão, province of Beira Litoral, in Central Portugal.
Almost all the houses in Piódão are made of schist, including the roof shingles. The surface of the streets is also schist. Piódão is one of the most interesting villages in Portugal, hidden in the mountains of Serra do Açor.
The colour of the schist stones may change very much with the light.

Hoje, Dia Mundial da Fotografia, mostro uma aldeia de xisto: Piódão, na província da Beira Litoral, centro de Portugal.
Quase todas as casas no Piódão são feitas de xisto, incluindo o telhado. A superfície das ruas também é de xisto. Piódão é uma das aldeias mais interessantes de Portugal, escondida na Serra do Açor.
A cor das pedras de xisto pode mudar muito com a luz.

Bom dìa Francisco,
Este pueblo me recuerda de los de los Piréneos Españoles. Casas de esquisto muy bonitas y bien organizadas, para que hagan una composiciòn fotogràfica excelente :-)
Me gusta como el pueblo se anida en la natura cercana, y el blu de los techos se concorda bien con el verde de las plantas.
