Hi dear TE friends
Place :Monsanto, it is a Historical Village of Portugal.
Region: Municipality- Idanha-a-Nova / Parish-Monsanto (zone center of Portugal).
To see: map view
Theme:Monsanto rock strength
Taken on a rainy day…
As the title says “Monsanto rock strength”, this great photo show us that.
The houses are build only with granite stone, a local and natural resource.
We can see in the middle of the picture a big granite stone. Everybody call it “roofing tile”. A typical restaurant was build on this amazing rock. Down, you can enter a cave.
*If your target is not our extraordinary beaches, you must visit our Historic Villages, for sure, you’ll not loose your precious time. There, you’ll find a sort of beauty natural stuff. All in all impossible to see in any other place in the world.
I hope you like it !
------------------
Monsanto : é uma freguesia do concelho de Idanha-a-Nova, com 131,76 km² de área e 1 160 habitantes (2001). Densidade: 8,8 hab/km²..
I hope you like it, a big hug to all of you TE friends

Fica bem.

Hi Filipe!
This is a true masterpiece, both the place and the photo. I don't know from where to start. First of all a stunning composition, second beuatiful colours, third a breathtaking sky. Excellent sharpness and contrast, perfect overall definition. What catches the eye's attention is this huge round rock, pressing this tiny house! Straight to my favorites! Congratulations!

Excelente enquadramento. Parabéns e continua assim!
Um abraço,
Ricardo

Hello Filipe,
your picture is really amazing but, to be honest, I've surfed on Internet to check if it was real or fake. Apart from the sky, also the rock in your shot gives the impression to be pasted. I would have preferred a more realistic picture, as such a place is interesting enough. Anyway this is a great posting. Have a nice weekend, Dario.

Hi Filipe. A brilliant shot showing a unique place. I really like the sky - which looks almost surreal. The brightness, sharpness and detail say much about your ability as a photo editor. An excellent photo and a very good note. Kind regards, Paul.

Bonjour Filipe,
Best regards.

Hello Filipe,
that's a very interesting neighborhood! There are already a good amount of praise and I don't see how I could add anything. It just so out of the ordinary that it's hard not to find it interesting!
I think the sky is fake though. I don't mind the fake skies, it's just that I think it is easy to see...
Great work!!!

AL

Hi Filipe,
You have a very nice gallery and your photos of Monsanto in particular are amazing. In this one it looks as though an enormous rock has just landed in the middle of the village.
I think your choice of a dull day works very well to create even lighting conditions with nicely saturated colours, particularly the green of the moss and the red roof tiles.
I haven't yet been to Portugal but I see that Monsanto is definitely worth a visit.

This is, hands down, the strangest architectual photograph ever posted on the Trek Earth forum. I thought at first that it was a tiny miniature scale model of some futuristic design. Amazing! nice shot of Monsanto. on the relatively small crop you've got really much details. exactly like in the real live and in that small village. you've got nice moments with no people, what is quite difficult, 'cause it's touristic place. I don't like the change of sky -- it looks artificial, especially on the top right side. regards!

This should be used in the tourist brochure.
Best photo ever seen of this subject, which illustrates so perfectly the "Granite jewels - gentle giants" theme (I put it on the theme's cover).
The better a photo the better it illustrates how easy it is to seriously damage unique sceneries.
In particular in this case the cumplicity of the authority, allowing the appearance of the new house.

Parabens!
