Photographer's Note

The photo was taken during one of my trips around Porto. I went to Braga. At the beginning i was dissapointed. In my guide i read it was one of the most beautifuel cities in Portugal. Well - nothing special. However in the city surroundings you may find medieval sanctuary: Bom Jesus Do Monte (Good Jesus of the Mountain).

As many hilltops in Portugal and other parts of Europe have been sites of religious devotion since antiquity, it's no surprise to see the sanctuary situated here. The place is quite charming, the views - magnificient.

After 5 hours of walking on the hill, watching everything we sat down. As the sunset started its show i couldn't stop myself and took this shot. It's kitch. I know. There's many photos like this. But I don't care. Just by watching this photo I start to remember how amazed I was and how beautifuel were the views from the hill.

I wanted to catch this scene without silhouettes in it. Unhappily too many tourists felt the same admiration for Panorama. And there was always someone there :/
