Aveiro, Portugal, is perhaps one of the country’s most unique and inspiring cities, and yet it remains a “hidden gem” that features on surprisingly few travel itineraries for visitors planning their trip to the western flank of the Iberian Peninsula.

This is a city quite unlike any other, a place where urban sophistication and modernity meet and merge with the unique marine environment in which Aveiro, Portugal, has its ancient roots. Hello Daniel,

This is a fine, colourful photograph, capturing the character of this unusual Portuguese city.
The boat and its reflection hold the f/g with interest, a good foretaste of what we see in the b/g.
The thought of a boat, like this, might have suggested a landscape format but, with the tall, mooring pole as a f/g feature, the vertical format works superbly.

The colourfully painted boat makes a lovely focal point and supplies an apt frame for the background scene. A nicely illuminated composition ideally suited to the vertical format. Excellent colours and clarity.

Hello Daniel, a clever use of the boat to attract our attention and draw us into the scene.
I imagine that these boats are Aveiro's version of Venetian gondolas?
