Dark River, a photo from Acores, Islands

Photographer's Note

Another scanned image, this time of a section of the river in the Terra Nostra Park at Furnas on the island of Sao Miguel. The original was taken with a Ricoh XR7. What appealed to me in this scene was the lush green contrasted with the dark of the water. Apart from some sharpening of the scanned image, nothing else was done to enhance the image.

Very green! A great photo and nice reflections in the water. There's a lot of detail in it, so I would have liked to see a bigger 800 pixel version. Nice, thanks.

I like the reflection most! And the different GREEN refreshed me a lot...the colour of river is dark enough.

Wonderful green contrasting with the darkness of the water. Great detail in the ferns and trees and beautiful lines of the riverbank. Love it.

Sem duvida que atraem, estes verdes magníficos.
A meu ver, tem alguma sob exposição no céu, de resto tem uma tonalidade de verde fascinante.
O local deve ser lindo de se visitar.

So may shades of green, it's quite breathtaking! The image has wonderful depth, with layer upon layer of foliage.
But the amazing thing is the extra dimension that is added by the fish (koi?) that is visible through the water in front. Well seen and captured.

Nice reflections and an interesting diversity of vegetation. So much green but still bare trees. I also like the contrast between the dark water and the green colours. The longer I look at this photo the more I see.

Thanks for your appreciation of my sunset and I wanted to know more about you and your pictures.This one is fantastic.The reflection of the trees in the river contrasts with the other colours The little path along the river leads us in this garden.The only little overexposed sky at the top may be could be cropped a bit just above the tree at the back. This is my opinion.
