Photographer's Note

This is somewhat a tradition in Furnas - S. Miguel, Azores Islands/Portugal.
That's a volcanic region and the meats+vegetables cooked in natural boilers Lagoa das Furnas is one of the most emblematic dishes of the island. The various ingredients are placed in a pot, which is buried in the ground near the boilers, taking about five hours to be cooked by the heat given off from natural volcanic activity.
