Photographer's Note
I was eating dinner in a small cafe on the edge of the town square in Sandomierz as the sun slowly set behind the Town Hall.
The sunlight darkened to redder tones, filtered through the leaves of the trees in the square, illuminating the old buildings opposite with a magical light.
I put down my knife and fork, grabbed my camera, and fired off this idyllic twilight shot of people enjoying the warm evening. The scene was from 2008, but could have been from 100 or even 500 years ago (well, except for the TV aerials). The golden age of Sandomierz was around the beginning of the 17th century, but most of these houses would have been built after the fire of 1757.
Sandomierz is a lovely little town, very popular as a day trip from Warsaw. I came for one night and stayed for three. I will be back. There is a great little campsite, walking distance to the centre, where I park my camper. There are 120 historical buildings to enjoy and photograph and an interesting underground tour.

Hallo Peter!
One of the best and the most interesting architecture photos I've seen so far...
You show us a wonderful old alive street in a gorgeous, nearly breathtaking light. For me - a perfect photo. Really great - I like this one very much - and your note too! ;-)
Greetings from very summerly Germany!

Hi Peter,
an interesting view with a quiet atmosphere.. I wish I could walk there too!
The rays of the setting sun touching the colourful buildings make them look even nicer. Almost an idyllic scene!
And the composition is very good, too, of course :)

Elena

You sure have an impressive and superbly composed gallery with a wide variety. I like the use of the lights in this one and the way you have composed this street. great work indeed.

Hi Peter,
Such a strange looking photo, it's almost like you've deliberately blurred and smudged certain parts of it post processing?? It makes for an interesting effect and for sure I like it because the light is just fantastic and the sharpness of the buildings is perfect. Not too keen on the tree leaves to the right though, but I guess it's all part of this style!
Creative, thanks for sharing
