Photographer's Note

On May 1st 2004 Poland (together with 9 other European countries) officially joined European Union.
On the same date a few countries from the old EU opened their labour markets for workers from new member countries.
Poland with the highest population among these and very high internal unemployment which was at that time around 20% turned out to be the biggest "supplier" of workforce.

Since 2004 several hundred thousand of (mainly young) people moved out in search for better work and better life.
Their main destinations have been so far Great Britain and Ireland.

The picture shows some advertisements of newly published newspapers/ magazines aimed at people wanting to look for a job abroad.
