Photographer's Note

Fishing boat on the beach in Orłowo at the Baltic sea. Orłowo is the southern district of the city of Gdynia, in which there is a large port, which is affected by passenger and commercial vessels, as well as military. I do not know this family, which is in this picture, but I hope that this family does not mind me that I photographed it.
The name Orłowo owes its name to the fisherman Hans Adler, who in 1829 bought the land from the local miller at the mouth of the river Kacza, on which he set up the inn. This Inn, named Adlershorst ("Orla Kępa" or "Orle Gniazdo"), gave the name of the village, which after 1920 was officially renamed Orłowo
