Photographer's Note

I would like to show you few more photos from the Słowiński National Park. I have recently shared three photos featuring sand dunes near Łeba:

but there are other entrances to this unique national park. The most interesting in my opinion is the entrance near Czołpino. A trail which starts there takes you through a pine forest to Wydma Czołpińska (Dune of Czołpino) and further to a great sandy beach at the Baltic Sea coast. Dune of Czołpino is smaller than the dunes near Łeba but it is subtly decorated with some vegetation which gives it quite unique appearance. This spot is further away from larger resort towns, so it is much less popular among tourists. From the trailhead it took us one hour to hike through the dunes to the coast. We made this hike in the evening hoping to see the patterns on the sand better pronounced by shadows. I will show one of them later. The main path seen in this photo indicates that the people passing through leave a clear trail and the sand has no chance to recover the natural sand pattern overnight. Along the way we met few groups of people who were returning from the beach, some couples and families. These were usually more ambitious beachgoers who were willing to drive further than others and also walk longer to rich spectacular sandy beach with few people on it.
I have visited Dune of Czołpino few years back. Here are two more photos I shared from this trail:
