Photographer's Note

Side aisle of the Parish Church of St. Mary on the Sand.
This Church, dedicated to St. Mary, is situated on the Sand Island on the Oder river. The first Romanesque church was built here about 1148. In the second half of the 13th century a brick monastery was built here, and about 1334 began the construction of a Gothic church. It is a hall, three-naved church, made of brick, but it has stone foundations and stone details.
I think that this is one of the most beautiful Gothic interiors of Wroclaw churches. Especially its original, irregular vault is impressive.
