Photographer's Note

Arboretum Wojslawice is located about 50 kilometers south of Wroclaw. It was founded 200 years ago as a manor park in the English style. In 1811, owners of Wojslawice planted the first trees which at that time were unknown in Poland. In 1880 the new owner re-arranged the Arboretum and founded the garden of rhododendrons and azaleas. In 1977 the garden was inscribed on the list of Polish arboreta, and in 1988 was incorporated into the Botanical Garden at the University of Wroclaw.

Currently, the garden has an area of over 70 hectares. There grow 4650 species of trees, 900 species of rhododendrons and 3100 varieties of daylilies.
In the picture you can see one of several cascading ponds. The whole Arboretum is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the wonderful blossoming of flowers and shrubs.
