Photographer's Note
Swiny Castle is one of the oldest castles in Lower Silesia.
The oldest mention dates back to 1108. Together with the Bolkow castle (located 3 km away) it guarded trade routes running from Czech to Lower Silesia and further to the Baltic Sea.
According to a legend, a long secret tunnel exists between both castles.
The name Swiny itself refers to the legend about a wild boar/swine. In 712, the knight of Biwoj killed with his bare hands a boar attacking the legendary princess Libusa. For the courage he received the land and the princess became his wife. The boar was in the coat of arms of the family. The son of the knight built the Swiny Castle and the whole family was called von Swyn or Schweinichen (German).
The castle has not been destroyed for centuries during numerous wars, hurricanes in the 17th and 18th century caused the greatest damage, today the castle is a picturesque ruin.
Taken from the Bolkow castle.

Bonjour, cher Ryszard,
Nous sommes plongés à travers la légende et l'historique du château aujourd'hui tristement en ruines.
Malgré tout, je prends plaisir à la découverte.
Amitiés.

Hello Ryszard,
The ruin is still very impressive, maybe partly because of the contrast with the two cottages seen below the hill. It's a very good composition with a lot of trees included, and with a wonderful sharpness and clarity.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Ryszard,
I like the stark contrast between the 2 well cared for dwellings in the fg and the derelict abandoned bg building. Even the bright red roofs contrast strongly against the drab grey brown tones. Tfs!

Bonjour Ryszard,
Il était je présume très beau ce château qui dominait le village bien assis sur sa colline. J'aime le cadrage vertical qui est accompagné des maisons à ses pieds.
Amicalement

Hi Ryszard, the style reminds an old manifactury abandoned,it's a pity that now is a ruin,a great capture with a full view very sharp and bright. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ryszard
Interesting landscape and history of the ruins which has pervasive air of tranquility, love your good natural framing inviting the eye to the main attraction, and great too how those fg does lend an extra colour booster to the whole capture. A pleasing image so well taken, Congrats.
Best regards
