Photographer's Note

Built in the 13/14th century on a granite rock and surrounded by the Kwisa River, the Czocha castle has been through a lot: it provided shelter in the times of war, survived a fire, was robbed and plundered, for the last time by the new local communist authorities after WW2. Now it is a hotel and a tourist attraction and also has been used as a setting for a Polish film "Where is the General?"
