The stone bridge in Bardo.
The town Bardo is located at the historical trade route between Wroclaw, Prague and Vienna, it was also part of the Amber Route. So for centuries, a bridge over the river Nysa Kłodzka (Glatzer Neisse) existed here. In the Middle Ages it was built a solid wooden bridge, but the river Neisse is very dangerous, many times in its valley there were floods which destroyed the bridge. In the historical chronicles are mentions of 60 large, devastating floods. In place of the wooden bridge, in 1589, was built a stone bridge, in 1909, it was rebuilt and reinforced. It is interesting that in 1997, the bridge resisted the 100 year-flood, when the flood wave had 11 m of height and overflowed the bridge.
