Photographer's Note

During a boat trip in the Krutynia river in the Mazury lake district we came across this magnificient old oak lying in the water. Our guide told us it fell during a storm some 15 years ago. It's age was around 250 years. Since the river is in a national park the oak was left where it fell. Only some branches were cut to allow the passage of boats and canoes.

Sepia colour was used as an experiment and I liked the "old" feeling of the picture, so I kept it that way.

The image was cropped and tinted into sepia in PS along with some sharpening filter and contrast adjustment.
