About Polnd. Page Five: About Good People
80% of inhabitants of Punsk are Lithuanians. Every year in the middle of August there is a 4 days festival of Lithuanian Culture. People living in this part of Poland, as well as those living across the border, in Lithuania, gather for the event.
I encountered there many many good people who openly spoke about their nation, and the way they live in this part of the country.

Posed, yes but I like how you isolated these two from the event without resorting to a wide apreture. The self assertivenmess of youth looking right in your camera and the shyness of the older generation. A sort of metaphor for the more assertive nature of minorities these days who seem to be grabing and demanding more rights every day.

The light was a tad harsh: you didn't quite get the skin values you have elsewhere, J, but I tell yuo what: I LIKE this ocmposition very much - this odd pair up front, HUGE and the little people behind. I find it moving and artistic all at the same time.
Best,
Francis

Hi J.
I'm sure these women explained you a lot of things of Lithuanian Culture.
The composition with they on the left-hand side and the fair on the right is lovely.

I like the two generations portrait and the fact that the younger one is looking you in the eyes and the older is a bit timid. This duality speaks more that what you might think in the first place. So hats to you my friend for taking this shot the way it is and for posting this one in particular. Like your aperture choice, clearly isolating them both while showing an hint of the festival that breathes in the background. Very good photo indeed!

pozdrawiam,

Well, Jerzy, what could I say... that I SO miss these Good People... that these good people for me live on a part of the earth I no longer inhabit... of course there are good people here too. No doubt. But these people, the way you have shot them, with their honest facing your lens, moves me dearly. I know these people... as if I had been with them all along.
A wonderful reunion!
Thank you. This shot is one of your most moving ones to me.

Wspaniale.
Serca podbijasz tych ludzi.
A przeciez i czas znajdujesz na skomponowanie wyborne, i ten moment jedyny, wlasciwy...
Kontrola poczynan nadzwyczajna...
Prawdziwa Polska.
Prawdziwi ludzie.
