Photographer's Note

Apologies for the low light levels inside the museum. You can see several better shots of the RAF war plane in the link. But somehow the darkness suits the mood better. It was a very dark time throughout Europe from 1939-1945. The white eagle is the symbol of Poland. The Nazi swastika needs no explanation. The eagle is attacking the snake-like swastika.

I am not a big obsessive fanatic about war planes but found them interesting none the less. From the link

"RAF Liberator 1:1 replica: Beside the Ghetto Museum, The Warsaw Uprising Museum is another "must" for any visitor to Warsaw. Its major artifact is a nearly complete 1:1 replica of a RAF Consolidated Liberator B MK 6. (A USA made plane). The real aircraft, S/N KG890 (MSN 44-10395), took part to a resupply raid from Brindisi (in Italy) for supply (mainly weapons and ammunition to the Warsaw Resistance. Manned by Polish crew of the 1586 (Polish) Squadron of the RAF, it was lost during its return trip."

I cannot figure out why a US / RAF plane has a German swastika and eagle up the front. Footnote. Figured it out. Germany is not the only country that likes eagles. The white eagle is a symbol of Poland.
