Photographer's Note

Somewhere in central Warsaw. There are many of these columns adorning entrances & balconies throughout the old city and it's hard to track an exact location. Some of them are draped in nets to prevent pigeons leaving a mess. Delphi & Athens started the ball rolling in ancient Greece with the female Caryatids atop the Acropolis in the Erechtheion eg. They've become very popular throughout Europe including Poland Czech Republic, France & Romania etc. Less so in North America and Australia / NZ. The male equivalent seen here are called 'Atlantes' More info here:
