View to the modern Warsaw, The Śródmieście district
Śródmieście district could be called the cultural and recreational heart of the capital. Many cultural and sport events of local, national, and international importance are held there. The biggest number of museums, galleries, theaters and cinemas are located here as well as a complex of monumental parks.
The area is home to the most important national and municipal institutions, many businesses, higher education establishments (e.g. Warsaw University, Warsaw University of Technology and Medical Academy) and theatres. It is also home to most of the tourist attractions in Warsaw, including the tallest building in Warsaw (234 m), the narrowest street (5.3 m), the oldest university (est. 1809), the oldest public park (opened 1772), the oldest secular monument (1644) and the oldest historical building (13th century).
The name is also colloquially used for Warszawa Śródmieście railway station.
Warsaw
Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland. It is located on the Vistula River roughly 260 kilometres (160 mi) from the Baltic Sea and 300 kilometres (190 mi) from the Carpathian Mountains. Its population as of June 2010 was estimated at 1,716,855, and the Warsaw metropolitan area at approximately 2,631,902. The area of the city covers 516.9 square kilometres (199.6 sq mi), while the city's agglomeration covers 6,100.43 square kilometres (2,355.39 sq mi) (Warsaw Metro Area – Obszar Metropolitalny Warszawy). Warsaw is the 9th largest city in the European Union by population.
"Warszawianka" is widely considered the unofficial anthem of Warsaw. On 9 November 1940 the City of Warsaw was awarded the Silver Cross of Poland's supreme military decoration for courage in the face of the enemy, the Order Virtuti Militari for the heroic defence in 1939.
Warsaw is also known as the "phoenix city", as it recovered from extensive damage during World War II (during which 80% of its buildings were destroyed), being rebuilt with the effort of Polish citizens. Warsaw has given its name to the Warsaw Confederation, Warsaw Pact, the Duchy of Warsaw, Warsaw Convention, Treaty of Warsaw, Warsaw Uprising and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.(Skyscrapers of Warsaw & wikipedia)

Hi George,
brilliant composition with the whole in the building well visible. Plus I like the background filled with the cubical architecture. Fantastic geometry. Sadly you did not have a great light but I see you tried to compensate it with the processing.
Very interesting POV, well seen and captured,

Hi Gyorgy
lovely contrasting shot when compared to the beauty that you have shown us in this series. Love the composition and crop here it is very effective and the fg building is really unique in design. Hard to believe how many high rise blocks are in this town, they look like they go on forever. Excellent execution as always.
Wishing you a peaceful weekend - regards Brian.

Hello George
It's good to see architects breaking away from the traditional rectangular block style of skyscraper. And the color deviates from the mundane grey or white, to this nice green shade. Tfs!

Hello George,
It is the district of the superlative degrees. The photo is very spectacular, with this building in overhang, hardly supported by frail one pillar, very impressive. Excellent quality of the realization. Bravo.
Have a nice day

Bonjour George
On n'imagine pas d'ici Varsovie avec des immeubles modernes ŕ l'architecture audacieuse comme celle-ci. Par contre, les couleurs ne déparent pas du centre historique.
Bon weekend
