Photographer's Note

Cave painting of Our Lady in the picturesque setting of rocky gorge in Mnikowska valley, in the vicinity of Cracow. Originally made by the famous artist and mountaineer, Walery Eljasz Radzikowski, in 1863 during January Uprising for religious and national strengthening. Later, repeatedly
devastated during incompetent renovations...

Nowadays, a local place of pilgrimage with the modest Way of the Cross, visited in 1952 by young priest Karol Wojtyla (His papal cross is visible on the rock on the left).

Quasi-HDR technique applied for this one.
