Photographer's Note

This is a photo taken during a cruise on the Naeroyfjord (a branch of the Sognefjorde) in Mid-Western Norway. It was taken on the Norway in a Nutshell tour.

The tiny village of only a few buildings is situated on an alluvial fan of sediment deposited from the waterfalls over time. From what we could see there was no other way of reaching the village other than by boat along the fjord.

I especially liked this photo as the sun had just started to shine through the clouds down the valley behind the village, casting it in this light.
