Photographer's Note
This is the "Another Place" exhibit at Sola beach. Anthony Gromley made this exhibit and it lasted for one year. These "Rusty men" as the exhibit was known as was quite popular. Some americans even think of the movie "City of angles" when they see images of the exhibit.
I appologize for the poor quality of the image, this was shot using film, and scanned a few years later.

Hello Halgeir,
I like this one!
The muted colours fits the subject, and enhances the mood very well...
Pleasant diagonal, well balanced composition and the most wonderful play of light in the sky!
Greetings,

I remember this one!
Too bad they had to take it away.
Nice siluettes and quite a dramatic play of light out in the ocean.
Some slight pixelation and grain here and there but I know the camera you told me about, pity it turns out like this. Anyway it is still good.
Thank you for sharing.

Very strangfe image. Qulaity is not so bad, the tonality is just a bit dark but the cloudy sky is beautifull. But the most astonishing is this collection of sculptures emerging from the beack and sea.
All the best,
Emmanuel

It's a very effective sculpture, Halgeir, particularly in the light you have chosen to display it. The beams of light in the distance provide something mystical for the rusty men to gaze toward. And the glow off the water gives them something to contrast against. Well done! Regards, Ken.

Hei igjen halgeir.
I did not managed to catch this exhibit, but I truly have noticed the "rusty men" around stavanger city.. You've caught a magnificent atmosphere here. And the playful reflections in the water from the sun makes it at the same time so full of life! The sky is marvelous and the lines and POV works very well! The quality doesn't bother me at all.

Hi Halgeir, You have well captured this massive art exhibition. It is hard to keep those pieces there lasting for one year, as the ocean wave may wash them out. Nice capture of the light contrast and the wave. A well taken picture.

With this lighting it looks haunting. I like the angle you chose with the lighting. It works perfectly with the locations of the sculptures and creating a strong diagonal and perspective through the image toward the sun. It's like some mysterious force is beckoning these people back home to the sea and some kind of infinite beyond toward the sun and over the horizon. And with their static positions there is an other worldly feel to them as though they simply move without moving. It's a good capture in terms of getting the sky and light and beach all pretty well. It comes across very nicely in the end.

Hi Halgeir,
The quality problems you mention in this pic are barely obvious. It's actually quite a good photo in my opinion. I like the extraordinary detail in the clouds. The way the sun illuminates them creates a really nice contrast against the landscape and reflects just enough on the water to create another subtle variation of texture.
Nice work, my friend.
Hugs,
Tony

Hi Halgeir, this is great as is the extraordinary light you captured. The scene is a little eerie which is an added attraction. Well done.
