Photographer's Note

(I was a bit buisy for my study, but I am back, althoug I am still very buisy untill the beginning of June.)

This is Vigeland's Park in Oslo.

Vigeland was born in 1869 with the name Gustav Thomsen. His father drank a lot and hit his children on Easter, because he thought that they had to feel the seem as Jesus.

Vigeland run away from home and tried his whole life to get rid of his bad childhood by making art. He stayed a while in Trondheim and Paris, but finally he concluded that he couldn't erase the traces of his childhood.

When he came back in Olso, he begon on his lifework: a park that has to symbolize all parts of life. Vigeland's Park, a park with 192 sculptures and more than 600 figures was the result. He also designed the rest of the park and worked on it untill his dead.

For other photos I made of this park, look here and here. To the left, you see the part which is on this photo.
