Photographer's Note

A closer view of one of the charming old buildings of Alesund. This one dates from 1905. In 1904, almost the entire city, which was then constructed of wood, went up in flames. Not the best weather, but still an attractive piece of Art Nouveau architecture.

Hi Chris,only 117 years old but the architechture remind a lot the german castle of 1600,very nice and well preserved,lovely surprise from Alesund, just a pity for the car in front...have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Chris,
This building has several nice details and the fairly bright yellow walls make it stand out among its neighbours. Many Swedish towns met the same fate and were rebuilt with a lot of interesting architecture from the decades around the last turn of century.

J'apprécie les reflets sur les vitres. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'architecture de l'immeuble. Il y a un bon contraste entre les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Spectacular this beautiful Art Nouveau building, the soft yellow tone contrasts very well, with the brown ornaments of the facade and with the slate roof, the architecture reminds a bit of a castle with its corner turrets.
Perfect sharpness, exposure, colors and POV.

A pity of the car but this is not the mistake of the photographer.
What a lovely frontage it seems German architecture.

I'm not sure if I like having the truck in the frame, or not...anyways, the hotel is the star of the show and for good reason. what a strange and ugly/beautiful exterior. i'm sure 50 would say its ugly, 50 would say its beautiful. not the best lighting, but that's not your fault. glad you posted it

It is a beautiful and charming building with the soft colour of its facade, the pretty windows on the ground floor and its round corners with a tower on top.
It actually looks a bit like a modern castle.
