Photographer's Note

The Lofoten archipelago in the north of Norway is a spectacular mountainous chain of four islands and Tind is located in the southernmost part called Moskenes°ya. The islands are dotted with little colourful fishing cabins called rorbuer (singular - rorbu).
Fishing cod is the main activity of the Lofoten Islands since Viking times. The heads and bodies are dried separately on racks. The heads are exported to Portugal, Spain and Italy where the famous bacalao is rehydrated. The heads are sent to West Africa where fish head soup is a popular dish.
