Photographer's Note

Ok, first of all, this is taken with my completely new camera, Canon EOS 550D! Secondly, I have been away from TrekEarth for over a month now. This is because of the sad death of my computer. He passed away recently, and I haven't been able to visit TrekEarth since then.

My photo today is a kind of an update: How the Norwegian woods look like right now. It has rained a bit for the last days, but there's still a little bit of snow left. Fl°yen is well known if you've been to Bergen or just seen pictures. But not many people know the treasure behind. Few tourists continue walking in the forest behind the tourist attraction. In the summer it's a fantastic hiking area, while there is a great ski track lighted in the winter.

While there are no people on this picture, these tracks are surprisingly much in use. Yes, it's only half an hour walk from the city center (!), but you can actually expect to see other people skiing even almost at midnight!

So this is Norway right now. It's winter and the snow is here. Yay!
