A trilogy of novels written by Norwegian author Trygve Gulbransen published 1933-1935 gained large success and sold in buckets, but possibly not because of literary quality though…

Movies were also made based on Gulbransens books, for instance the German production “Und ewig singen die Wälder”, that was released in 1959 and became a great success with an audience of 7 millions.

What is my point? Well what you see in the image could very well be the setting for Gulbransens epic drama that describes the life of a wealthy family of farmers during the years 1760-1810…

“And behind sings the forest” – the translation for the English speaking among you… “Og bakom synger skogene” in Norwegian.
