Photographer's Note

This is the latin, botanical name. It can also be called Wild Strawberry, Woodland Strawberry, Alpine Strawberry, Fraise des Bois or European Strawberry.

At this place I found several of them standing together. They look very tasty and indeed - they are very tasty. Really delicious!

I've read somewhere that the Wild Strawberry is a European plant. On the other hand... I seem to remember having picked such berries for my breakfast in the early eighties in the Canadian Rockie Mountains. But that's already over thirty years ago. How time flies...maybe I become senile. ;-)
