Photographer's Note

Taken from the ferry going between Mannheller and Fodnes in Norway. We can see Fodnes on the picture.

Fodnes is a farm located by Sognefjorden, the second largest fjord in the world. There were many of these roadless places along the fjord in earlier times. Now, most of them has no people anymore and they just stand as a forgotten place. At least some places are still left. Most of them has now got a road, but not all.

The mountains rises to over 1000 masl. (3000 feet), while the fjord can go about the same length on the other side of the surface. The water has a blue-green color because it's cold. Some of the water come from the glaciers above.
