In autumn, the wonderful colors can help light up the cloudiest day.
In the background, Steiggjeberg, (917 meter high) and its cliff is quite impressive.
The lake is connected to Årdalsfjorden, arm of Sognefjorden, by a short river (1.3km), Hæreidselvi, flowing through the town of Årdalsvangen.
